• Necessity: Laser imagesetters have strict requirements on ambient light when working, because they use laser beams to expose and image on photosensitive materials (such as film). Excessive external light can easily interfere with the laser exposure process, resulting in imaging deviation, reduced resolution, or even exposure failure. Therefore, it is necessary to operate in a darkroom environment to isolate external stray light and ensure exposure accuracy and imaging quality.
• Advantages: For small printing plants and small film output centers, darkroom operation facilitates centralized management and control of the working environment. According to the specific needs of the laser imagesetter, the temperature, humidity and other conditions of the darkroom can be accurately adjusted to keep it in the most suitable working state, extend the service life of the equipment, and also help to stably output high-quality film to meet the requirements of subsequent printing processes.
Application of small printing plants
• Cost and efficiency: Small printing plants have relatively small business volumes and are more sensitive to the investment cost of equipment. This type of laser imagesetter is small in size and relatively more affordable, which can reduce the equipment procurement cost to a certain extent. Moreover, it is relatively simple to operate. Operators can quickly get started after a certain amount of training. Under limited manpower conditions, they can efficiently complete film output tasks, providing high-quality film negatives for subsequent printing, such as leaflets, brochures, small packaging and other products, to ensure printing quality.
• Flexible adaptation of business: The business undertaken by small printing factories is often more diverse, which may involve the production of printed films of different sizes and resolutions. This small laser imagesetter can flexibly adjust output parameters according to specific business needs. For example, it can easily switch film size specifications, adjust high resolution parameters for high-resolution album printing, and use appropriate conventional resolution for simple leaflet printing, which is well adapted to various printing business needs.
Application of small film output center
• Precision service advantages: Small film output centers focus on film output services, and pay more attention to output quality and precise satisfaction of different customer needs. In this environment, the laser typesetting machine operated in the darkroom can minimize external interference to ensure that the output film meets high standards in terms of resolution and color reproduction, and provide customers with high-quality film products, such as outputting films for large poster printing for advertising companies and outputting films for book pages for publishing houses.
• Convenient quality control: In a relatively independent darkroom environment, staff can monitor and test the quality of each film output in more detail. Professional testing equipment can be equipped in the darkroom to check the density, clarity and other aspects of the film output by the typesetting machine in a timely manner. Once a problem is found, the parameters of the typesetting machine can be adjusted quickly to ensure the stability of the film output quality and enhance the service reputation and market competitiveness of the center.
Equipment features and selection points
• Equipment features: It usually has a compact structural design, a small footprint, and is easy to place in a limited space. Its laser exposure system has high precision and can meet the needs of film output from general to high resolution. Some also have certain automation functions, such as automatic film loading and automatic exposure calibration, which reduce manual operation errors and improve work efficiency.
• Selection points: Choose the appropriate resolution specifications based on the main types and scale of printed materials for your own business. If you often undertake the production of high-quality film albums and other printings, choose a high-resolution model; also consider the stability and maintenance costs of the equipment, and choose a brand with a good reputation and guaranteed after-sales service; at the same time, pay attention to its compatibility with other equipment in the existing printing process to ensure that the film output can be smoothly connected to subsequent plate making, printing and other processes.

Application︰
Most printing processes require printing plates, especially in the field of special printing, such as pad printing, screen printing, hot stamping, flexo printing, offset printing, and gravure printing. Some printing processes with higher technical barriers are developing towards computer direct platemaking technology (CTP), that is, using computer control to directly output the design draft stored in the computer to the printing plate to form a printing plate. Offset printing, flexo printing, and screen printing are relatively mature. Some printing processes with lower technical barriers still follow the traditional platemaking process. First, the image and text are output to the platemaking film, and then the platemaking film is used to cover the printing plate to make the printing plate. Pad printing, screen printing, and hot stamping still retain this process. The platemaking film , which is formed by coating a photosensitive layer on a PET film. The transparent area of the platemaking film will transmit ultraviolet light, and the non-transparent area will block light. The photosensitive layer will solidify in the area that transmits ultraviolet light, and the photosensitive layer will not solidify in the area that does not transmit ultraviolet light, and will be washed away during development and washing. Most pad printers, screen printers, and hot stamping machine operators are small-scale investors with meager profits, and may not be willing to buy expensive laser phototypesetters. However, the KC series laser phototypesetters are inexpensive, have moderate accuracy, and are easy to operate. They usually recover their costs in about three months. If you are engaged in pad printers, screen printers, and hot stamping machine processing business, or provide film output and plate making business for other printing factories, you can consider the KC brand laser phototypesetter.
Advantages︰
The traditional plate-making process requires the use of printing negatives attached to the photosensitive rubber surface of the printing plate for exposure, forming graphic and non-graphic areas, which are the basic structure of all printing plates. Due to the cumbersome and complex process, offset printing, flexo printing, and gravure printing are all developing in the direction of CTP, trying to get rid of the dependence of platemaking technology on printing negatives. However, in the fields of pad printing, silk screen printing and some low-cost printing, the profit margin is still difficult to support the expensive price of CTP technology. Therefore, the production of printing negatives is still a very important link. Making plate negatives is actually similar to the process of developing a camera after taking pictures. In the printing field, this link is completed by a laser phototypesetter. The laser phototypesetter can control the design information in the computer through the movement of the laser head on the film through computer control. Exposure is generated, and then the text area and the transparent area are formed through the development of the developer and the fixation of the fixer. This is the plate negative, which can be used to make pad printing plates and screen printing plates. Laser imagesetters can meet the requirements for pad printing, silk screen printing and less demanding offset printing and flexo printing involving both positive and negative films.
